Smog’s Season 1 airdrop rewarded $SMOG token holders who joined the project’s questboard on Zealy and completed daily quests and community tasks for XP. The first season ended with a snapshot taken on April 3, 2024, at 2 PM UTC.

All in all, an eye-watering 9 million quests were completed between nearly 50,000 participants in the first airdrop season.

Season 2 began on April 4th and is currently ongoing. This time $SMOG holders’ on-chain activity is being assessed since the beginning of Smog’s launch. It also continues to reward holders who complete community quests in the second season questboard on Zealy.

That same day, the team announced the token’s listing on the MEXC centralized exchange (CEX).

Due to congestion issues on Solana, the Season 1 payout was postponed and rolled into Season 2. This decision was made in the community’s best interests, as the team did not want congestion issues to cause any users to miss out.

After Solana deployed an update on April 15, the Smog team carried out multiple tests to ensure that the airdrop could be completed by the end of the week.

Smog’s Season 1 airdrop distribution began on Friday, April 19, and was completed by mid-afternoon on Saturday, April 20.

Due to the delay, the team airdropped two weeks’ worth of tokens during the first distribution, with six more payouts set to be completed over the next six weeks.

SMOG Is Solana’s Community Meme Coin

Meme coins can be some of crypto’s most volatile investments due to a lack of obvious fundamentals and a tendency to exaggerate price movements in the wider market.

When Bitcoin is rallying, they can go to the moon, but on a bad day meme coins can shed value very quickly due to their inherent risk and often questionable deliverables.

Smog is different to the run of dog-related meme coins pawing investors for money. The name references Smaug, the fire-breathing guardian of gold in The Hobbit. But unlike Smaug, anyone wanting a piece of the pie needn’t travel to the Lonely Mountain. They can just join the airdrop.

$SMOG launched on the Jupiter decentralized exchange (DEX) on February 7 and quickly became popular due to a unique selling point: encouraging community building and engagement through an ambitious airdrop touted as “The Greatest Solana Airdrop of All Time.”

To join the fun, investors need a funded Solana wallet, which can then be spent on $SMOG via the Jupiter DEX aggregator, Birdeye, or MEXC.

Each $SMOG serves as a ticket into ‘The Dragon’s Court’ crypto community – qualifying holders for the airdrop’s ongoing second season.

In addition to completing quests, holders can also stake their $SMOG on the Ethereum network for a vesting period of 90 days to earn even more rewards. Buy and stake $SMOG on the official website for a 10% discount on your purchase.
